I am a recent graduate from the University of Texas and I am an ALT (Assistant Language Teacher) in Nagasaki-ken JAPAN!
Welcome to my blog!
Currently, I am a 22 year old Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) on the JET Program working in Omura, Nagasaki at Omura Jonan Senior High School. I love my job and I'm really enjoying my time here in Japan! I graduated from the University of Texas after three years with a BA in Japanese Language and Culture. I minored in Nutrition. In the fall of 2007, I will start studying law at The University of Houston. My goal is to come back to Japan and study here abroad before I graduate. I am interested in International Law and finding ways to use my Japanese and knowledge of the land and culture. Ganbarimasu! (I will do my best!) I think of myself as a sensitive, yet strong and determined individual with a true and caring heart. The glass is always half full. :)
I hope you enjoy my blog and my stories/pictures/videos that I post in hopes to increase understanding between cultures. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to leave me a comment or email me. I will be happy to respond!
(Thank you for reading! Please enjoy!)
I am interested in many different things as I am always willing and excited to learn new things. I enjoy cooking, baking, eating meals with family and friends, taking pictures, studying, reading, writing, staying warm in the cold of Japan's winters, etc. When people ask me what my favorite food is, I have trouble picking because I love just about everything. I really enjoy Japanese food (such as sushi, sashimi, katsudon, etc), Indian food, Tex-Mex, Italian food, and of course the good 'ol American burger and fries. Nothing beats a home cooked meal though and cooking with my mother is one of my favorite past times!
