Flowers that were delivered to my apartment like 2 seconds after I walked into my apartment. Thanks Jonan High School! I enjoyed them thoroughly!
Meghan and I successfully made our first meal together...and of course it was nasu (eggplant). My goodness it was tasty!
See that yellow car? That's where we need to be. Hit the road, Jack! And be careful walking there...see how narrow the roads are?
Meghan at one of the several shrines we found in Omura. The little white things in the background are drawings from elementry kiddos. We were thinking that was some ALTs project -- they had English on them.
My baby shot me down? One of the many pachinko parlors in Omura. Got a kick out of the name. BANG BANG!
Omura has this cool arcade with lots of shops and restaurants. It's fun to ride bikes through here. Cars drive through it at night. I have a wink card...if I get enough whale stamps I might get something cool...I dunno what it does. haha. Some kind of point card for the shops in here.
Vegetables and tofu. Mmmmm....now we're talkin'! And, oh yes, I cook with chopsticks. Am I turning Japanese?
I live in a NASU (Eggplant) happy society and it makes me happy. As you can see, I have a collection going already (apart from just eating the stuff). How do you like my shirt with dancing eggplants? The little one is a magnet/clip and the towel is a dish towel. haha.
This is on the outside of a cover for vending machines and reads "TOBACCO JUICE" Even though it means there are tobacco and juice machines, it looks like they go together. Ewww tobacco juice...
Ok, I had to take a picture of this. In the States, my favorite grocery store aisle is by far the cereal aisle. The selections they have take up a WHOLE aisle. In Japan, it fits in a picture. The closest thing I can get to wheat is bran flakes. When I was here last time, my host family bought the Peanuts Chocolate cereal (seen in the lower right hand corner -- white and brown box). It's pretty good, but where are my whole grain options here?? They don't exist!!
Mmmm roasted peas. I love the caption on this thing. Do YOU have joyful talking with fresh beans like I do??
We were sitting literally 30 feet from this thing at our Omura Crew picnic. Cool, yeah?
Pork, beef, and chicken skin??? That's what the rolled pieces are. Why do Japanese people eat chicken skin (pure fat) straight up? I don't get it!
Aaron and Pat at the beer garden giving the camera a KANPAI (cheers!). Check out the sky, though!
No cars, no noise, and a single woman in a kimono standing at the street corner by the train station on Friday night. Omura is a quite town. It's nice.
Amazing view from Kyoko's car. I love being so close to the water (except for the typhoon part of it).
Everyone at the waterfall! I look like I don't know what's going on AT ALL in this picture.
The waterfall outside Omura. Lovely, isn't it? In this picture, I think the water looks like milk. Ha!
