Overdone Outfit

This is an elaborate dress that I saw in Okinawa. The true colors are different shades of orange and in my opinion it looks quite hideous, but the black and white gives it a nice contrast.

金閣寺 : The Golden Pavilion

One of my favorite pictures I have taken in Japan. This is the Golden Pavilion in Kyoto. I love the way the entire image is reflected in the clear pond in truly brilliant colors. Post card worthy, for sure.

Shashin Stories?

I like to take pictures and I want to share them with you. Shashin is "picture" or "photograph" in Japanese -- I liked the alliteration. :) The idea is to post a new picture everyday and maybe a comment about it. With that, I will leave you with my first picture. A hydrangea in the garden of Hiradojyo (Hirado castle). I love the abundance of flowers blooming at this time of year. They are so comforting.
