When experienced ALTs tell you this, you better listen to them. Right now I have nothing to do (specifically) but come to school and 'sit' until 4 o'clock rolls around. This drains you!! However, I won't complain because (1) I'm getting paid for it (2) it does give me plenty of time to make some well thought out lesson plans (3) I get free Internet access (4) I'm doing a lot of reading (US history and stuff on law school) and (5) I'm in Japan! Blogging has become one of my hobbies -- and it's a great way to pass the time. So, happy reading!
Last night I went on a picnic in Omura park with the rest of the new JETs in Omura. We had a great time and the park is so gorgeous! We were literally sitting 30 feet from a castle -- pictures to come soon. There are plans to go to the beer garden tomorrow night for dinner and Omura's water park / kaiten zushi afterward on Saturday. I'm especially looking forward to the "sushi train" (as Kai calls it) -- I've heard a lot of good things about it! The way it works is there is a conveyor belt that has different plates of sushi (usually 2 pieces) on it and you take what you want. The best part about this one is that all of them are 100 yen plates. In the States you'll pay 2-3 dollars for something like this during a Happy Hour. Woohoo!! 楽しみ!
I should have Internet access in my apartment in less than a week! If you're interested, my Dad likes to blog more than I do -- and he likes to brag about me. =) You can see one of his many pages here. Much love <3
